The U.S. District court of the Southern district of New York has entered judgment against three independently operated perfume distributors in the New York City area who were charged with trademark infringement and unfair competition by Victorinox Swiss Army.
This action successfully initiated Victorinox Swiss Army’s litigation campaign against sellers of “decoded” fragrance products, from which serial numbers and other identifiers applied at the time of manufacture have been removed, according to the company.
The fragrance is part of the 125-year-old brand of popular accessories. Victorinox Swiss Army is currently embarking upon an international launch for its newest fragrance, Victorinox Swiss Unlimited. This new fragrance will be available in the U.S. in the Fall of 2009 and internationally throughout 2009 and 2010.
