Jessica Alba Promotes Volunteer Week

The Honest Company, which is owned by actress Jessica Alba, the company’s founder and president, is asking its community to join in dedicating time and efforts within their respective communities with a special call-to-action for National Volunteer Week, April 6 – 13, 2014.

The brand will be partnering with the Los Angeles-based non-profit Food Forward for a company-wide fruit harvesting day to provide nutrition to families through local food banks and shelters.

The blog, Honestly, is encouraging volunteerism by providing a list of non-profits that the company regularly partners with, as well as other suggested resources and ways to give back across the country – and sharing volunteers photos on social media with the hashtag, #honestcares.

Alba commented:

"We really want to help people and see that we are making a difference. It's not just money we want to give. We want to put our time into directly helping families in need."

The brand also created an interactive ‘Social Goodness Timeline,’ which is featured on the brand's website at: Honest.com/social-goodness - giving customers a look at the brand's ‘goodness milestones,’ including its dedication to sustainability.
