ClickStick says it’s the world's first smart electric deodorant applicator - and, it lights up with its LED lighting system that comes in pink, blue or green. It is battery operated (and the batteries will last for at least a year), and it has an innovative push-button delivery system, which the user "clicks."
The microprocessor ensures that the electric motor will deliver the same of deodorant with every click. No matter for how long you press the push-button, you will always get the same amount. This amount can be easily adjusted through a small knob on the device.
ClickStick is also the first refillable deodorant. The user keeps the reusable holder containing all the electronics while either replacing the plastic container with a refill that snaps in place, or by refilling the existing container by purchasing an eco-friendly pouch refill.
The company is running a campaign on Kickstarter now, hoping to raise $55k for production costs, through pre-orders, for an anticipated launch of June 2015. To date, the company has raised nearly $18k, and has 217 backers - with 48 days left in the online campaign.
To entice backers, the company has created a limited edition package in chrome that can be engraved. There's even a free mobile app to remind you to apply the product, and let you know when you're about to run out.
Who came up with the idea? Rocket scientists. Gilad and Carla are the creators of ClickStick. They met while studying at Princeton University for their PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
