Tom’s of Maine has chosen 51 non profit organizations for its sixth annual 50 States for Good community giving program. More than $500,000 will go directly toward funding projects that benefit communities in every state and the District of Columbia.
Susan Dewhirst, goodness programs manager at Tom's of Maine, commented:
"For the first time, we're awarding more than $500,000 to support organizations and volunteers on the front lines of making communities stronger across the country. Every community advocate we heard from – reflected in thousands of nominations – has a unique and special vision for bringing a lasting, positive impact to where they live."
Each nonprofit chosen will receive $10,000 to support their community programming. The list includes In Jacob’s Shoes, Pompano Beach, FL; Books for Keeps, Athens, GA; and City Growers NYC, Long Island City, NY.
