Women in Flavor & Fragrance Commerce has announced that its 2015 Fall Seminar will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2015, at the Saddle Brook Marriott, located at 138 Pehle Avenue, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663-5230. The focus will be on the market in Africa.
With two decades of record growth, a rapidly urbanizing population of 1.1 billion, rising incomes and vast untapped natural resources, a burgeoning middle class is on the cusp of birth on the Africa continent.
This WFFC seminar will focus on the current trends and diverse influences Africa brings to the Flavor and Fragrance Industry. The expert panel will provide navigation through the rapidly expanding new African market. For the audience to gain an exposure to the various trends, the discussion will touch upon raw material supply, economics, geopolitics, and consumer markets and trends.
The WFFC has an exciting lineup of speakers. The discussion topics will include: “Tapping into Africa: Turning Opportunity into Possibility” - James Russo (senior vice president, Global Consumer Insights, Nielsen); “My Passion: Flavour and Fragrance Raw Material Production in Sub-Saharan Africa” - Hugo Bovill (Owner, Ajowan Consulting); “Buchu at Home: A Producer’s Perspective” - Michele Starke (marketing director, Piquet Buchu); "Food and Flavour Business Opportunities in Nigeria" - Jide Adedeji, PhD (Founder and C.E.O., Specialty Natural Flavors Company and C.E.O., Teragro); as well as “Africa: The NEXT Big Opportunity” - Miguel Alemañy (director, research & development, Procter & Gamble Co.) and Rafael Trujillo (research fellow and senior perfumer, Procter & Gamble Co.).
An African themed lunch and a special presentation on African flavor trends, “A Taste of Africa,” by WILD Flavors will also be included.
