A report from KTLA says that officers at the Los Angeles police department seized over $300,000 in counterfeit makeup last week
The photo above was posted on Twitter by LAPD Captain Lillian Carranza, who stated:
Your CCD Intellectual Property Crimes Unit recovered over $300,000.00 in counterfeit product from #DTLA area. Please purchase from an authorized retailer. Previous test of counterfeit makeup reveled animal feces and chemicals that can be hazardous to your health.
Carranza advises consumers, “Please purchase from an authorized retailer."
The cosmetics that were confiscated came from China, and were found in a retail store. The selection included counterfeit MAC and Kylie Cosmetics lip kits.
The FBI advises consumers to check packaging for any details that look different.
