2009 FiFi Awards for Packaging

Dozens of nominees push the envelope and vie for top awards.

Following are the nominees for Best Packaging of the Year—Prestige and Popular Appeal for Men’s and Women’s Fragrances, along with a selection of photos of some of the package contenders. Judging is based on the concept that all the units of a fragrance package must work together (beauty, impact and consistency), and that the consumer should be able to interpret the concept of the fragrance through its physical package (bottle and outer package). The relationship between the fragrance name and bottle is key, and there must be a consistency from the name to the bottle. The fragrance name/personality must also be supported by its package. The package must be a true reflection of the fragrance.

The top five finalists—along with finalists in each of the other FiFi categories—will be announced at the exclusive member’s-only FiFi Finalists Breakfast on Friday April 24th, 2009 at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Manhattan. Stay tuned to www.beautypackaging.com for updates.
