Amway recently launched the Artistry Supreme LX line - and now the two luxurious skin care products are packaged as a limited edition gift set for Holiday 2016.
The line’s two skin care products - Artistry Supreme LX Regenerating Cream and Supreme LX Regenerating Eye Cream - are sold with a vanity tray, in black lacquer, decorated with a gold floral motif. The set is packaged in a luxe gold gift box. “The Artistry Supreme LX Collection is a luxury skincare line like none other from the Artistry brand,” said Jackie Nickel, Amway chief marketing officer for the Americas.
See the set and close-up images of the packaging in the slideshow above. We spoke to the team at Amway - more details about the bottle and jar’s custom-engineered designs are described below.
Artistry’s Most Luxurious Launch
The team at Artistry calls this line its “most luxurious and technologically advanced formula to date” - and is priced to reflect this. The products claim to help users look 15 years younger.
The Artistry Supreme LX Regenerating Cream, in a 1.7 fl. oz. jar, retails for $365.00, while the 0.5 oz airless bottle that holds Artistry Supreme LX Regenerating Eye Cream is $195. The gift set, at $560, costs the same as buying each product individually, making the vanity tray a free bonus.
The products are formulated with regenerative stem cells from the Gardenia Grandiflora plant and a combination of other scientifically advanced ingredients - plus, 24 Karat gold, to diffuse light and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. A Few Details From Amway’s Director of Product Development
The line’s fancy gold bottle and jar certainly live up to the line’s luxurious image, and seem worthy to hold the brand’s advanced formulations. “Precious formulas deserve equally precious packaging,” the brand states in its press materials. (See more about the slew of patented and patent-pending ingredient technologies in the formulations here on Amway's site.)
The line’s packaging glistens with a jewel-like metallic gold finish, which reflects the 24-karat gold in the product formulations. To achieve this look, the jar and bottle are decorated with a shiny rose gold vacuum metalized finish, with a clear gloss UV coating.
“The jar for the Artistry Supreme LX Regenerating Cream and the bottle for the Artistry Supreme LX Regenerating Eye Cream both feature patent pending, custom designed and engineered packages,” says Kristi Pelc, Amway Director of Beauty Product Development.
Pelc continues, “Our goal was to achieve luxurious, innovative and sophisticated design elements that reinforced the ultra-premium position of the Supreme LX collection.”
A Two-Year Design Process
Pelc further explains that the team at Artistry used a specific design process for Supreme LX, partnering with its creative agency SelectNY. “The design took over two years to optimize and refine. Tooling, artwork and plant trials were all part of the process of defining the designs, resulting in an unprecedented launch for Artistry,” she says.
Both the bottle and jar, in luxurious gold with faceted ribbing, seem to glisten. Pelc says that Olivier Rose Van Doorne, world wide creative director at SelectNY, has described the design, stating: “24 facets encircle the forms without a clear beginning or end. A jewel-like prism of the same number of facets is laid into the top, becoming a symbol of the importance of the contents within.”
The bottle and jar have inner sections made from polypropylene (PP), which hold the formulation. The outer part of the dual-wall bottle is made from PCAT, and the jar’s outer walls are molded from Styrene Acrylonitrile. The bottle’s closure, as well as the jar’s overcap, are both PP, while the jar also features an outer closure made from ABS, as well as a top plate that is Styrene Acrylonitrile.
The tops of the closures on both the bottle and jar feature inner facets, which are designed to mirror the effects of a sundial,” Pelc says. “This again pays homage to the resynchronization technology story of the formulas,” she explains.
The bottle also features a luxuriously designed actuator that has a PP inner with an aluminum overshell.
The team at Artistry worked with Yoshino to manufacture the packaging. “They were the supplier that best met our vision, process and quality of materials for creating the luxury package we had in mind for the Supreme LX collection,” Pelc says.
