The Women in Flavor & Fragrance Commerce organization has announced its 2014 Chicago Chapter Board of Directors, and the 2014 WFFC scholarship award recipients.
The officers of the 2014 Chicago Chapter Board are: president-Karen Van Kampen (Kerry Ingredients & Flavors-Americas); vice president-Dafne Diez De Medina (Innova Flavors); secretaries-Rebecca Riley (Lesaffre Yeast Corp./SAFISIS) and Mary Maile (Innova Flavors); treasurer-Christa Gibson (Pearlchem Corp.). The board members include: Margaret Dvoretsky and Laura Lukas (Givaudan Flavors Corp); Kelli Heinz (Bell Flavors & Fragrances, Inc.); Marissa Piazza (FONA International, Inc.), and Jane Pinda (independent). Dolores Avezzano is a consultant to the board.
Sarah Warth is the 2014 recipient of the Rita Flynn Memorial Fragrance Scholarship Award. She is enrolled in a dual master’s program for business and science at the University of Padua, Italy, and has held unpaid internships at Givaudan and IFF.
Christine Akoh is the 2014 recipient of the WFFC Flavor Scholarship Award. She is currently earning a PhD in Human Nutrition at Cornell University.
The WFFC has given out three additional scholarship awards to Emily Ball (Nutrition Studies, University of Minnesota), Renee Lalonde (Food Science, Kansas State University) and Joanna Godyla (Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing, Fashion Institute of Technology).
